Despite their reputation as a tough breed of dogs, German Shepherds, especially the females, are generally delightful and good with kids.

Males may be less forgiving of rough play, and they should be supervised unless they have been raised with children and are well-trained.

Before getting a German Shepherd as a pet in your house make sure that you can easily handle the breed, as at times due to its large size it can be hard to take care of.

In order to do so, one of the easy ways is to compare your and the size of the breed and see if it is not very large.

On average, adult humans weigh about 60 to 80 kg (132-176 lb) and have a height of 5.5 to 5.9 feet.

So, in terms of height, the breed is quite small and would reach your knees or a little above it.

These dogs are incredibly loving and completely devoted to their human family. They are also extremely intelligent and respond quickly to training.

They are quite manageable, but at times they can be aggressive, so be aware of them and keep your children away till the time the pet is fully trained.
